Musician and cancer survivor John Farnham has appeared healthy and happy in photos posted to mark a special milestone on Monday.

The Aussie legend appeared in an Instagram story posted by his son Robert, celebrating his 75th birthday.

In one picture, the You’re the Voice singer is dressed casually and enjoying a beer in an outdoor dining setting with wife Jillian, son Robert and daughter-in-law Melissa.

There’s an empty beer bottle on the table in front of Farnham, while the others sip white wine.

“Happy birthday Papa J. Looking forward to making many more memories with you guys,” Robert captioned the image.

In a second photo, father and son relax on cane furniture on the deck as the “birthday boy” pats the dog.

It’s not known whether the pictures were taken on Monday or are older photos.

However, their release marked a major milestone for Farnham, who underwent gruelling surgery for mouth cancer in August 2022 followed by reconstructive surgery. Then months later he was rushed back to hospital with a chest infection.

In the latest pictures he looks fit and relaxed while enjoying time with family.

Last month, photos emerged from Farnham’s first public outing since his battle with oral cancer.

The musician was pictured looking well at Robert’s wedding in photos also shared to Instagram in mid-June.

Robert Farnham shared the pictures from his wedding, which was held in February in front of family and friends.

One image showed Farnham looking proud as he posed alongside the bride and groom, standing next to his own wife, Jillian.

In the second photo, a suited Farnham appears relaxed with his hands in his pockets as he shares a moment with his son.

It was the first time Farnham had been seen in public since his 12-hour operation to remove a cancerous growth from his mouth. Part of his jaw was removed and he also had reconstructive surgery.

Months later in March 2023, Farnham caught a chest infection and was rushed back to hospital.

In August last year, Farnham celebrated doctors giving him the “all clear” from cancer.

“I am the luckiest man I know right now. It’s been a year since my first surgery and to be honest I’ve lost count as to how many other procedures there’s been since then,” he wrote.

“I’m sure someone’s kept track of them all – let’s just say, there’s been a few.”

Farnham said he would mark the “special day” by enjoying a pizza – “because I can”.

“I can’t wait to see what might be next on the menu. Bring on 2024,” he said.

Robert Farnham posted the wedding photos to Instagram among other images of the couple on their special day.

“Shared the happiest moment with my favourite person in the universe and she said I do,” he wrote.

“Melissa, my life is forever better that you’re a part of it. You looked radiant, beautiful and elegant.

“I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us and I’m truly honoured to have you by my side as my wife for life.”
