Man charged for dual-fatality smash

 A man will face court accused of causing a fatal crash in Melbourne that killed two women and was witnessed by their family members.

The 20-year-old has been charged with two counts of culpable driving causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing death after two women died when their car was T-boned in Attwood on Sunday night.

The Attwood man faced an out-of-sessions hearing on Monday night and has been remanded into custody to appear before Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The women’s Ford was T-boned by a Mercedes as it entered an Attwood intersection on Sunday night.

The 56-year-old passenger, from Greenvale, died at the scene, while the 60-year-old driver, from Westmeadows, died en route to hospital.

One of the victim’s family members was following her car closely when it was hit.

The man driving the Mercedes was unhurt.
