The date of the election? Pauline Hanson says she knows for sure

Pauline Hanson has again taken to social media from her sick bed – this time to claim she knows the date of the looming federal election.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison will call the election for May 18, Senator Hanson told the 260,000 followers of her Facebook page on Friday.

“I know this because the Liberals’ advertising has been leaked and runs through until the 15th of May,” she said.

“The biggest fight for our country is due to be called this weekend.”

The One Nation leader had already used Facebook to announce on Wednesday that emergency surgery for appendicitis was behind her absence from the Senate this week.

Among the votes she missed was the bipartisan censure of former One Nation recruit, Fraser Anning, for his inflammatory comments about Muslim migration after the Christchurch mosque massacres.

In Senator Hanson’s absence, One Nation officially abstained from the  vote.

On Friday, Senator Hanson said she expected to leave hospital soon.

“Checking out – but not in the way some people would hope,” she wrote.

“I’ve just been discharged from hospital today.”

Senator Hanson said she was ready for the election campaign.

“Never forget it is the Liberal/Nationals, Labor and especially the Greens who have continually destroyed our country and way of life,” she said.

“I may not know everything, but I do know I could do a lot better than some of these sycophants.”

Mr Morrison is widely expected to visit the Governor-General this weekend to call the federal election. It can be held on May 11, 18 or 25, but no later because of the complicated counting process required for the Senate.
