The CWA may be synonymous with scones, jam and cream but don’t be fooled, it’s really part of a bigger Country Womens Association strategy.

The women’s lobby group is pumping out around 3,000 scones over four days through it’s Scone Bar at his week’s Royal Hobart Show.

The Scone Bar has been a Royal Show institution for more than two decades and is a refuge for tired show patrons needing a top up with a dose of country hospitality.

Southern Group President Lindy Cleland says the scones are just a means to an end, a practical way of promoting the CWA and advocating for women.
