Hide your chocolate eggs and and ready your hot cross buns, Easter is almost here.

The long weekend will kick off this week on Good Friday.

But before you head off into the sunset or get too settled on the couch, it might be a good time to take stock of your fridge and pantry.

Supermarkets won’t be closed the entire long weekend, but there might be a day or two when you won’t be able to replenish supplies for a family lunch or an impromptu chocolate feast.

Read on for TND’s guide to major supermarket trading hours over this year’s Easter long weekend.

And if a store near you is closed when you’re in a pinch this weekend, look up your local petrol station’s opening hours in case they have what you need.

Good Friday:

Closed nationwide, except for select stores in Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.

Easter Saturday:

Open nationwide, apart from select Metro stores. Trading hours may be reduced.

Easter Sunday:

All stores open in Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia and Tasmania.

Handful of stores open in New South Wales, South Australia, Australian Capital Territory and Northern Territory.

Easter Monday:

All stores open in Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland, Western Australia, New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory.
