The trends we need to leave behind in 2016

When asked by my TND editor to name the fashion trends I would like to see the back of in 2016, my first thought was, ‘Don’t get me started’.
There was a lot to be positive about – the off-the-shoulder trend was pretty, as was the blue-and-white striped oversized shirt, the Gucci backless mule, the kimono-as-a-coat trend and the embroidered bomber jacket.
The good news in fashion was really that when so many options co-exist, the consumer is in control.
However there were definitely trends that left me cold, and some high-profile serial offenders.
