Airport staff have welcomed home the country’s favourite sons with a triumphant haka on the tarmac in Auckland.
Wearing hi-vis, a large group of Air New Zealand staff gathered on the tarmac to perform the ancestral Maori war cry as the plane carrying the victorious All Blacks arrived home.
It ended with a huge cheer, echoed by the 4000 fans awaiting the team as they filed through the airport.

All Blacks flyhalf Dan Carter told reporters in the airport the team was thrilled with the support from back home.
“It’s such a special feeling,” he said, 9news.com.au reported.
“We’re all proud New Zealanders and it’s amazing to see the support that we’ve got.
“We’d read about it and spoken to family and friends back home, but to see it first hand, it’s great.”
