The man who disarmed one of the alleged gunmen during the Bondi terror attack has been caught up on the wrong side of the law after being charged with assault.
Ahmed Al Ahmed, 44, is accused of allegedly putting his father in a headlock on March 9.
The charges relate to an alleged incident at a Bankstown home.
NSW Police confirmed he was charged on Wednesday with common assault and stalking.
“A 44-year-old man was served with a Court Attendance Notice for common assault and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic),” NSW Police said.
Al Ahmed will appear in Bankstown Local Court on July 29.
He told the ABC the alleged incident was “fake information … it’s not true at all”.
“I don’t have any information at all,” he said.
He said his main focus was looking after his health.
Al Ahmed told the ABC he still needed more operations on his arm for gunshot injuries from the Bondi terrorist attack.

Ahmed Al Ahmed underwent numerous surgeries after confronting the alleged Bondi shooter (inset).
The charges come after Al Ahmed’s two younger brothers were ordered to stay away from him after they recently faced court for allegedly threatening him.
Earlier in May, Hozifah and Sameh Al Ahmed were charged with allegedly using a carriage service to menace/harass/offend their older sibling.
News Corp reported that the two younger brothers allegedly called Al Ahmed and demanded $100,000 each from him, according to NSW Police.
The brothers have pleaded not guilty to all charges. They will face court on June 8.
Al Ahmed, a tobacconist, rose to prominence after video captured the moment he crept behind one of the Bondi gunmen and tackled and disarmed him, slowing the attack and saving lives.
He was shot twice in the arm during the incident.
His heroic efforts garnered worldwide attention with a fundraiser reaching more than $2.5 million.
Al Ahmed was awarded with Keys to the City of Canterbury-Bankstown, where he lives, and Waverley.
He was visited in hospital by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese as he recovered from his injuries.
He is due to appear in local court on July 29.
