During Jamie Murray and John Peers’ doubles semi-final match against Jonathan Erlich and Philipp Petzschner, a tennis ball ricocheted off a linesman’s chair and was sent hurtling into the royal box, where Beckham sat waiting.

Of course, it was a perfect catch. Beckham then threw the ball back onto the court and waved to applauding fans, including the tennis players themselves.

“If he’d had missed that one he would have got in trouble,” one commentator joked.

Just another day in the life of Becks.
