Swiss tennis star Stanislas Wawrinka has left little to the imagination in a new photoshoot for ESPN magazine’s annual Body Issue.
In the revealing new photos, the world number four plays tennis completely naked, showing off his impressive physique.
Speaking to the magazine, the 30-year-old insisted he was not focussed on his looks when working out but his performance.
“My body is for my tennis, it’s for my sport. I’m not a model at all,” the tennis ace said.
“I don’t work out to go to the beach, I work out to play well and to do well on the court.”
Wawrinka, who credits his fitness coach Pierre Paganini with his strength, also said he went through a chubby stage just like everyone else.
“When I was younger, I was a little bit fat. I wasn’t like big-time fat, I was just overweight – maybe around when I was 13 or 14. At that time I wasn’t practicing that much, tennis was just a hobby. But it wasn’t easy to feel that way,” he said.
Despite his serious expression in the photos, the tennis pro has maintained a sense of humour about the revealing shoot, retweeting a cartoon showing him exposing himself to the Queen.
