Centre court snub continues for Tomic, Kyrgios

Australian Open organisers continue to snub Bernard Tomic and Nick Kyrgios, both of whom have yet to play on centre court despite powering into the fourth round at Melbourne Park.
International superstars Rafael Nadal and Maria Sharapova will both return to the 15,000-capacity Rod Laver Arena on Sunday for the fourth time in as many matches this year.
Women’s No.3 seed Simona Halep from Romania has also been scheduled to play three of her first four matches on centre court, despite boasting a relatively low profile in Australia.

In contrast, Tomic’s eagerly-anticipated round-of-16 encounter against No.7 seed Tomas Berdych will take place on Margaret Court Arena, which had its capacity increased to 7500 after a recent redevelopment.
Kyrgios will take on Roger Federer’s conqueror Andreas Seppi on the 10,000-capacity Hisense Arena, which is at least a promotion of sorts after the boom teenager played each of his three previous matches on smaller arenas.
Tomic and Kyrgios are bidding to become the first Australia men since Lleyton Hewitt in 2005 to reach the quarter-finals at Melbourne Park.
Two-time major winner Andy Murray has fared little better than Tomic and Kyrgios in the scheduling stakes this year, although the Scot will make a belated 2015 Rod Laver Arena debut on Sunday against Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov.
