Australia’s Nick Kyrgios is through to the third round of the US Open in New York after a straight-sets win over Italy’s Andreas Seppi.

Kyrgios beat the world number 49 6-4, 7-6 (7/2), 6-4 thanks to an impeccable serving game which saw him unbroken in the one hour, 56-minute encounter.

The 19-year-old from Canberra, currently number 60 in the ATP’s world rankings, will meet 16th seed Tommy Robredo in the next round, after the Spaniard beat Italy’s Simone Bolelli 5-7, 6-7 (7/5), 6-4, 6-3, 6-2.
