The Daily Deuce: Day six

Hide your brothers

Jelena Jankovic today admitted that, although she loves her brother, he cops most of her on-court frustration.

“He makes this face. I hate it. I want to just go up there and slap him. He’s used to that.” If that’s what she does to people she loves, it’s no wonder that she is brutal with her opponents. Jankovic today defeated Kurmu Nara, her third Japanese opponent in a row.

“I’m playing the Japanese Open!” she laughed during the interview. “Now of course I’m not going to get a visa next time I have to play there. Sorry Japan.”

Pregnant with excitement

We know Federer loves kids. Firstly, how could you not when you have twin daughters this adorable:

Secondly, it’s no secret that Roger Federer is expecting his third child with wife Mirka. However, it seems his motivation for expanding his family is a little different than you would expect.

“It’s really exciting times,” Federer told Jim Courier today. “Last time she was pregnant I played really well. I won the French and Wimbledon.”

Meanwhile, Mirka looked unimpressed with her husband’s priorities.

Tight-lipped

Maria Sharapova and her handsome beau, Grigor Dimitrov, both made it through to the fourth round today. When asked during a press conference whether or not they discuss her grand slam wins (Dimitrov is yet to bag an elusive title), she simply replied: “We have a lot of different topics we discuss.”

Sounds…fascinating?

Crowd favourite

Often, the blur of yellow, green and beer can make Australian Open crowd members all blend into one. However, we have to give props to this group of “tennis fans” for being creative.
