NSW has one hand on Origin shield

James Tedesco has led New South Wales to a 22-12 victory over Queensland in the opening match of the State of Series at the MCG on Wednesday night.

The Sydney Roosters fullback was outstanding as he scored the first of the Blues’ four tries as NSW overpowered the Maroons in Game One, which was played in front of 87,122 fans.

Game Two will be played at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium on Sunday, June 24 and Game Three at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday, July 11.
