Raiders star charged with drink driving
Canberra, Queensland and Australia back rower Josh Papalii was caught drink driving.
CANBERRA Raiders star Josh Papalii has been charged with drink driving.
Canberra chief executive Don Furner said he was “disappointed” the 24-year-old back-rower was pulled over in the nation’s capital on Saturday.
“We are disappointed with his actions,” Furner said. “We will work with the Australian Federal Police.”
Canberra and the NRL’s integrity unit will examine the incident further Papalii is handed any punishment.
Papalii, who has represented Queensland and Australia, is recovering from ankle surgery which ruled him out of last year’s Four-Nations tournament.
In 2014 Papalii faced court for allegedly driving on a suspended licence because of an unpaid parking fine. He was fined and banned for driving for one month.
