The feud between Wests Tigers NRL coach Jason Taylor and hooker Robbie Farah appears to have flared again, with the NSW State of Origin rake dumped to reserve grade.

Farah had come off the bench in his past few NRL games, but the club confirmed on Wednesday evening that the veteran No.9 would not play on Sunday in the Tigers’ round-20 clash with St George Illawarra.

In a Tigers statement, Taylor said he had informed Farah earlier on Wednesday that he would not be part of the team to face the Dragons.

“This was not an easy decision to make, but I have selected the 17 players that I believe will give the club the best chance of victory against the Dragons,” Taylor said.

“Robbie is understandably disappointed, but I have spoken at length with him that he will be given every opportunity to regain his position in the NRL team,” Taylor said.

The move comes less than a week after Farah had played in the Blues’ Origin III win.

Farah remains contracted to the Tigers through to the end of next season, but this move will again throw doubt on his future.

Farah will play NSW Cup this Saturday against Newtown at Leichhardt Oval.
