NSW are in the hunt for their first series victory in eight years, while Qld are out for revenge after their Origin I loss.

8.24: Origin II is underway with an early penalty to Qld.

8.38: Johnathan Thurston kicks a penalty goal to put Qld up 2-0 after 14 minutes.

8.50: Still 2-0 to Qld after 26 minutes of play. Plenty of push and shove coupled with some solid defence from both teams.

8.56: Johnathan Thurston overtakes coach Mal Meninga as the highest-ever State of Origin point scorer after kicking his second penalty goal of the evening. Qld ahead 4-0.

9.06: Half-time. No tries scored in the first half. Qld lead 4-0 after two penalty goals.

9.24: Second half underway.

9.36: The video referee is reviewing a potential Sam Thaiday try for Qld, but it appears he may have lost the ball.

9.38: No try. That got the NSW fans out of their seats. Score remains 4-0.

9.42: Another close call for NSW as Queensland is brought to a halt just short of the try line.

9.50: Yet another let-off for NSW as QLD knocks on in the attacking 10. Score remains at 4-0 to Qld.

10.00: NSW is about to assault the Qld goal line for the the fourth consecutive set of six. Just over 10 mins left in the game.

10.01: Try! Trent Hodgkinson scores for NSW with nine minutes left on the clock. A successful conversion will put NSW in front.

10.03: Hodkinson converts his own try. The NSW fans are going berserk. NSW ahead 6-4.

10.11: An argument erupts with just two minutes left on the clock. NSW have the ball – and a two-point lead.
