Leading Scone trainer Luke Griffiths will face racing stewards on Thursday after three of his horses returned positive swabs for the drug ice.

The inquiry at Scone Racecourse comes after confirmation from two official racing laboratories of the presence of methylamphetamine in urine samples.

Two of the horses won races at Tamworth in January, with the third winning at Taree in early February 2015.

Racing New South Wales chief steward Ray Murrihy said it is the first time horses in New South Wales have tested positive to the illicit drug.
