It was another good day on Saturday for subscribers of The Trial Files, with a few good results from our full preview of the Rosehill Guineas card. The highlight of the day was the win of TIGER TEES at over $16 which was a great result. Remember, subscription is free at www.thetrialfiles.com

Readers of The New Daily also had a good result in WA’s feature race of the day with VITALISM tipped as a great each way chance and just going under by a head at $30+.

Below we preview two races on the Warwick Farm card, along with a selection from Pinjarra.

Warwick Farm Race 3 – 3yo Colts and Geldings Handicap (1200m)

Sprint over 1200m for the 3YO Colts and Geldings. Conditions obviously vital here as we are likely to face a wet track once again. If he runs, 1 KUDERO may be the key to the speed as he often sets the tempo. 2 ALBERTO MAGIC, 9 SABINO SPEED, 6 POWER OF PERCEPTION are likely to be up there. Our blackbooker 4 LONGMA could work forward from a wide barrier perhaps but with the solid pace on he may be best suited to taking a sit which looks possible. Tempo looks genuine to say the least. Our full speed map thanks to www.racingfans.com.au can be found online here.

1 KUDERO has had three runs on rain-affected tracks and they have arguably been the worst three of his career, missing a place on each occasion. 60kg doesn’t help one bit and we would be surprised if he actually went around here. If starting, happy to risk.

The Guy Walter trained 2 ALBERTO MAGIC shows that he shouldn’t have too many problems getting through the wet track. He couldn’t have done more in two career starts winning them both. Jeff Penza stays on board. He steps up in grade and up in weight on a wet track which are obvious concerns.

Some of you may remember 3 WOW FACTOR. A winner on debut as a 2YO against older horses at double figure odds when blackbooked. He has since had 10 runs adding another 2 wins to his name. One of those wins was first up last start at Gosford. He looks as if he will handle the wet ok as he trialled well behind Sidestep on the slow ground at Rosehill recently. Thinking he is a much better fresh horse and that is no real surprise given he is trained by Gerald Ryan, but the claim for Damien Thornton helps and he has ability. Definitely worth respecting him.

Our blackbooker here is 4 LONGMA. Formerly with Mick Price, he has now moved to Sydney and is in the care of Gai Waterhouse. With Gai, the colt has had two trials and both have been good performances. Winner first-up last campaign back in July on a Heavy track, he is sure to be competitive here. Nash Rawiller, who rode him in his first trial for Gai, is back on board and not expecting barrier 11 to pose many concerns. Handles all conditions and should be fit and ready to fire first up. He looms as a major player.

Waller has 7 ROCK TEMPLE who comes into this on the back of a good second in a $40,000 midweek maiden back on March 12. That run should see him be very competitive in this but he failed on a wet track on debut and that looms as a big concern. One advantage is that he has had 4 solid runs this prep and should be rock hard fit.

6 POWEROFPERCEPTION has plenty of ability but has struggled to string two runs together in two previous preps. He has clearly had issues but returned to racing with a dominant win at Wyong last start. If he has come through that win well and handles the conditions he must be given a good chance.

Another to note is 10 OYWOTZY. The son of Zizou needs to improve on what he has done at his last couple but he goes well in wet and has ability. He could roll forward and possibly give a sight if others don’t handle conditions.

A good little race made challenging given the wet conditions. Definitely feel that our blackbooker 4 LONGMA can run very well and happy to play accordingly. The wetter it is, the more confident we become. 6 POWEROFPERCEPTION and 3 WOW FACTOR loom as dangers and worth respecting.

Warwick Farm Race 6 – BenchMark 70 Fillies and Mares (1600m)

With eight of the 13 engaged here having run the quinella at their last start, this 1600m race for the Fillies and Mares looks an intriguing battle. Funnily enough, it is one of the other five that we will be focusing on, and that is the McEvoy trained 3 YOU ARE MY WORLD who has caught the eye in her trial leading in.

There looks to be reasonable speed engaged in this event, particularly from those down the bottom of the weights. 7 BUBBLES ‘N’ BOATS, 8 PASSIONFLOWER, 9 SUNDAY TOO FAR and 10 ELUSIVE DIVA all led in their previous outing. 6 AZTEC ROSE has drawn wide and has the ability to work forward also. The track conditions and how horses cope with it will definitely have an impact in regard to the map but the tempo looks to be solid. Our full speed map thanks to www.racingfans.com.au can be found online here.

3 YOU ARE MY WORLD is likely to get back in the run and may be suited by a solid tempo. She was scratched from a BM70 over 1400m at Warwick Farm back on March 20. Hopefully that scratching wasn’t due to a wide barrier as it would have posed little problems with the long run to the first turn and she would’ve got back in the run anyway. Again she drew barrier 12 at Hawkesbury in an event over 1500m on March 27 and was set to run before the meeting was abandoned after a few races. Safe to say she hasn’t had the perfect start to her preparation. Two trials leading in have been good, the latest making it into our blackbook. She went very well and made up good ground under little pressure. Loved the way she finished off and expecting her to go well here fresh. The rain affected surface is a big positive and increases confidence. That said, she may have to make up ground and her lead up to this first-up run hasn’t been perfect. Either way, she looks a reasonable chance in a tough race and happy to have something on her on an each way basis. Monitor track conditions and pattern.

This is a relatively open race and conditions will definitely an impact. The majority of those that have seen wet tracks have handled it ok. 7 BUBBLES ‘N’ BOATS won very well last start and the second horse has since come out and won well. If she gets through the going she must be respected. 10 ELUSIVE DIVA relishes wet conditions and could give a sight from up on the speed. 2 THERESMUSICPLAYING won well at this track in similar grade last start. She made up a huge amount ground suggesting the step up to the mile should pose no problems. No shock to see her run well again here. 8 PASSIONFLOWER hasn’t done a lot wrong in four career runs, running three consecutive seconds before breaking through for a well-deserved win last time. Untried in wet but if she gets through it, she may be hard to get past up on the speed.

Overall, taking the risk that the slightly interrupted prep of 3 YOU ARE MY WORLD hasn’t had too much of an impact and expecting her to run well. Something the win, triple the place.
