Toby Kane has won Australia’s first medal at the Sochi Paralympic Games.

The one-legged alpine skier put in an astonishing Super-G race at Rosa Khutar Alpine Centre on Friday to claim bronze in the men’s standing super-combined event.

The 27-year-old finished 4.42 seconds behind gold medallist, 16-year-old Russian Alexey Bugaev.

Bugaev took the gold with a combined time of 2:09.72, while Austria’s Matthias Lanzinger claimed silver.
