Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton has boosted his title hopes with victory in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

The 29-year-old Briton finished ahead of Finland’s Valtteri Bottas (Williams) and Australian Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) on Sunday.

Hamilton now stands just four points short of team-mate Nico Rosberg, who heads the drivers’ championship after nine legs but had to pull up after 30 laps because of a gearbox problem.
