Adam Scott paired with Tiger at Doral

Adam Scott has been paired with Tiger Woods for the first two rounds of their showdown for the world No.1 ranking at this week’s WGC-Cadillac Championship in Miami.

Scott will supplant Woods as the world’s top-ranked golfer if he wins the prestigious US PGA Tour event and the American fails to finish inside the top seven at Doral.

Officials have raised the already high stakes by grouping Woods and Scott alongside Swedish world No.3 Henrik Stenson for the occasion.

Australia’s world No.4 Jason Day is also in a marquee grouping alongside world No.5 Phil Mickelson and the sixth-ranked Rory McIlroy.
