Wellington Phoenix drew 1-1 with the Central Coast Mariners at Eden Park on Sunday afternoon in an entertaining affair that could have produced more goals.

Matt Simon scored the opener for the Mariners against the run of play after 40 minutes, and perhaps should have added to his tally as he failed to convert an excellent chance in the second half.

The momentum was with the home team, however, and the in-form Roy Krishna scored a fine equaliser with 20 minutes of regular time remaining.
