Adelaide United is set to sign former Newcastle Jets forward Ryan Griffiths.
The former Socceroo returned to Australia after playing in China for the past year with Beijing Baxy.
Griffiths was approached by Adelaide following the unavailability of several attacking players due to injury and representative duties.
He will join the Reds for the rest of the A-League season, pending the result of a medical assessment.
The 32-year-old scored 19 goals during two seasons with the Jets and Adelaide coach Josep Gombau expects him to be a valuable addition to the squad.
He is scheduled to arrive in Adelaide on Wednesday night and could be available for Saturday’s match against the Roar in Brisbane.
