Star Australian Ben Simmons sunk a rare three-pointer as his Philadelphia 76ers continued their strong form with a 116-92 NBA win over the Orlando Magic.

The 76ers built up a 35-point lead by half-time and were never troubled on the way to improving their season record to 4-1 under new coach Doc Rivers.

Five players made it into double figures for Philadelphia, but surprisingly Simmons wasn’t one of them.

Simmons ended the match with nine points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and two steals to his name.

Although his points tally was underwhelming, he did provide a highlight when he nailed just the third three-pointer of his NBA career – hitting nothing but net from the corner.

Joel Embiid (21 points), Seth Curry (21) and Tobias Harris (20) all played key roles in the win.

Two Australians featured for Cleveland and a third sat on the sidelines in the Cavaliers’ 119-99 loss to the Indiana Pacers.

Dante Exum scored seven points and nailed two-of-three from long range, while Thon Maker posted six points and a block from just nine minutes of action.

It could have been three Aussies in action for the Cavs if it wasn’t for Matthew Dellavedova missing his fourth straight game due to concussion.

The Pacers had six players hit double figures, led by Domantas Sabonis (25 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists).

Australian centre Aron Baynes had a quiet night but his Toronto Raptors at least notched their first win of the season with a 100-83 victory over the New York Knicks.

Baynes tallied just three points, four rebounds, and one assist in 15 minutes of court time, with Fred VanVleet (25 points) and Kyle Lowry (20 points) doing the bulk of the damage.

The Houston Rockets also posted their first win of the season with a 122-119 victory over the Sacramento Kings.

James Harden recorded 33 points, six rebounds, and eight assists, while Harrison Barnes (24 points, eight rebounds) led the way for Sacramento.

Otto Porter Jr scored 28 points for Chicago to lead the Bulls to a 133-130 win over the Washington Wizards.

The New Orleans Pelicans beat the Oklohama City Thunder 113-80, with Brandon Ingram (20 points, seven rebounds and two assists) leading the way.
