Richmond star Brett Deledio has farewelled Tigers fans with a heartfelt message on social media.
The midfielder, who served under the Richmond sash for twelve seasons, was traded to the Greater Western Sydney Giants after initially requesting a move to Geelong.
Deledio has not spoken publicly since the trade was announced, but took to Instagram and Facebook to thank loyal Tigers fans for their support over the years.

Captioning an image of a much younger Deledio with blonde tips and self-described “skinny arms”, the footballer paid tribute to the club and its fanbase.
“We have had some ups and downs but there you were, every weekend, cheering on the boys with that famous Tiger roar that always sent chills down my spine whenever we were making a charge at the MCG,” he wrote in a post that gained thousands of likes.
“While I have decided to have a fresh start, Richmond will always hold a special place in my heart and I will always be forever grateful of the influence the club has had on me.”
Deledio arrived at Richmond in 2004 as the number one draft pick and vice-captained the side between 2013 and 2016.
However, leg injuries have plagued the Jack Dyer medallist during the past two years, frustrating both Deledio and fans alike.
