Gold Coast is calling on the AFL and ground officials to investigate a possible racist remark from a fan against Suns’ midfielder Aaron Hall.

Fox Sports TV coverage of the Suns’ 26-point loss to Hawthorn in Launceston on Sunday clearly picked up a member of the crowd yelling abuse after Hall was awarded a free kick.

“Can you even see that far, you monkey,” the fan appeared to say during the third quarter.

It is unclear if the comment was directed at Hall or an umpire.

Suns coach Rodney Eade said he wanted the incident looked into upon being informed by media after the game.

“If that’s the case, hopefully the officials here, the AFL and the people here at Launceston oval get the people involved because it’s not acceptable.”

Hall has told News Corp that he did not hear the comment.

In 2013, retired Sydney Swans star Adam Goodes was called an ape on the ground during at match at the MCG by a 13-year-old girl.
