MRP cites Adam Goodes in final game

Sydney great Adam Goodes will head into retirement with a likely $1000 fine after being charged with misconduct by the AFL match review panel.

Goodes, charged with a first offence of misconduct, can accept a $1000 fine with an early guilty plea for his tangle with North Melbourne’s Scott Thompson in Saturday night’s AFL semi-final.

Goodes kicked out at Thompson but made minimal contact during the third quarter of the match. He retired post-game.

Goodes was the only player cited by the panel from the weekend’s semi-finals.
