All Blacks return home after World Cup victory
Thousands of Aucklanders gathered at Victoria Park on Wednesday to celebrate the All Blacks’ triumph at the Rugby World Cup.
Approximately 25,000 fans turned up to celebrate Sunday’s victory over the Wallabies after they successfully became the first team to win back-to-back trophies.
After a short parade from their hotel to Victoria Park, the All Blacks and their managers spent close to an hour greeting fans, posing for selfies and signing autographs.

The winning team then got up on stage for a brief ceremony, with high school students performing a welcoming Haka – a traditional Maori ancestral dance.
All Blacks captain Richie McCaw thanked supporters who turned up to congratulate the winners, before coach Steve Hansen paid tribute to players retiring from the team.
Other players also spoke, including fullback Nehe Milner-Skudder who ended the celebrations by accepting a cake from a young fan on stage.
Supporters gathered earlier on Wednesday morning at Auckland airport, as McCaw and his team were greeted with a thunderous welcome after entering the terminal carrying the Webb Ellis Cup.
The All Blacks are slated to be in Christchurch for their next parade, before travelling to Wellington for celebrations on Friday.
