Tim Cahill ‘highly unlikely’ to play in the A-League
Tim Cahill says it’s “highly unlikely” he will ever play in the A-League because of a lack of interest from clubs.
The Socceroos icon is out of contract when the Chinese Super League season ends later this month but said there had been no offers forthcoming from Australian sides.

“You can’t have temptation if you’ve got no offers,” Cahill told Fox Sports News.
“There’s never really been a relationship with me and the FFA when it comes to that, or even A-League clubs.
“There’s always been a question asked of me by media but never the question asked (of) clubs or the FFA.
“It is what it is but it’s highly unlikely.”
Currently in Australia to launch his new clothing line and his autobiography, Cahill is more than content to stay in China and hinted he will extend his contract with his current club for another year.
Shanghai Shenhua brought him in at the start of the year on a big-money deal and the move has clearly breathed new life into his career.
In 25 club appearances this season, Cahill has scored nine goals, and remains a first-choice Socceroos starter under coach Ange Postecoglou.
“Touch wood, something will be done around about the 22nd [of October] or roughly around then,” said Cahill, who turns 36 in December.
