Sydney Kings star import Josh Childress could spend the rest of the NBL season on the sideline after flooring Perth Wildcats opponent Jesse Wagstaff with a brutal elbow to the face.
The strike sent the crowd into a frenzy of booing, jeering and taunts directed at the 31-year-old American star player Childress.
The 391-game NBA player has been charged with striking, unduly rough play and bringing the game into disrepute. All three charges will be heard by an independent tribunal.
