Netflix and Stan, BINGE and Disney+, Amazon and Apple, the list goes on … and on. There are currently so many streaming options available, it can be hard to choose which one to tune into.
Regardless of which you prefer though, streaming great TV shows and movies is pointless if you don’t have anywhere comfortable to sit!
And that applies to the room itself, and the type of couch or recliner you have.
If you’re setting up for the long haul, you want to make sure you can binge watch your fave programs in comfort and style. Here’s how.
What lounge is best?
The lounge you decide to buy depends on your household. If you have a big family, or you love to entertain guests, opting for a single or double seater isn’t going to cut it.
Modular lounges are ideal if you have an open-plan living room as they can be arranged to fit any space.
You can separate them, so you have more than one seat, or keep them together for a larger lounge that fits the entire family. The configurations are endless.
These lounges might include a recliner, a corner chaise, and left or right hand configuration options, so they can be tailored to suit any home design.
Not only that, but you can customise and choose from a variety of fabrics or leathers, and colours and designs, which match your personal style or your existing furniture.
If you’re on your own, with a partner or housemate, or just looking to add a little extra comfort to your own binge-watching experience – a recliner is the perfect choice.
Whether you want the plush feel of fabric underneath you, like with the Rayna Recliner, or you prefer the luscious feel of leather, like with the Taylor Power Recliner, comfort is 100 per cent guaranteed.
Comfort, style and quality are exactly what you need when you’re spending a day at home relaxing, disconnecting, and forgetting about the pressures of the outside world, all while watching your favourite bingeable series and films chilled out on your La-Z-Boy lounge modular.
Choosing the right layout
Once you have chosen your lounge, you need to plan out the rest of your upcoming stylish room.
To start with, decide where you want to put the chairs versus the TV.
Avoid having the sofa pushed right up against the wall as this makes the space more closed in. And while you want your TV to take centre stage, don’t let it dominate the room.
You might have it mounted on the wall, freeing up floor space, or you might consider concealing it in an entertainment unit.
If you have more than one lounge, you will want one lounge facing the TV, while the other(s) could be facing the opposing walls or even facing the initial lounge to create a conversational space.
Make sure to have your TV facing the main couch so those sitting on that lounge can see the TV clearly.
Some other recommendations:
- If you have a coffee table, make sure it can be accessed easily from the lounge
- Add a large rug to make the space seem larger, but make sure it’s centred in the room
- Include some side tables, particularly if you have a single recliner or armchairs
- Add throw rugs and pillows to make the setting more inviting and comfortable
- Mix it up a bit – a circle ottoman will actually look gorgeous next to a rectangular couch, as well as moving the TV a little off-centre in order to free up space
You have plenty of options when it comes to making your lounge room cosy for a streaming binge, so get creative and start planning your space.
