Emmy-winning comedian-actress Amy Schumer and model Emily Ratajkowski were among the thousands that marched through Washington in opposition to President Donald Trump’s embattled Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
Schumer, 37, was reportedly detained, while Ratajkowski confirmed on Twitter she had been arrested.
The high-profile pair were among many protesters herded by police as they shouted and held up signs calling for Mr Kavanaugh to step aside following several sexual misconduct allegations levelled against him.
US Capitol Police say 302 people were arrested for illegally protesting inside the Senate office buildings.
The protesters had originally planned to protest on the Capitol steps but after police blockaded the steps, protesters headed to the atrium of the Hart Senate Office Building.
Video shows police asking Schumer: “Do you want to be arrested?” and her replying: “Yes.”
Here is @amyschumer telling cops she *wants* to be arrested.

In another video posted to Twitter, Schumer seemingly downplayed her pending arrest.
“Hi Zola, I’m here with your mom. She loves you very much,” the comedian said. “I think we are going to get arrested and we’re so proud of you.”

Ratajkowski, 27, shared a photograph of herself in front of the US Capitol in Washington DC brandishing a sign reading: “Respect female existence or expect our resistance.”

The protest city took place after senators were given a report by the FBI, which investigated the allegations made against Mr Kavanagh and which Republicans have said proves there was no wrongdoing.

Another group Young People For (YP4) took to Twitter to show Schumer addressing the crowd outside the building.
“Let’s stay together, let’s fight. Let’s keep showing up!” she yelled out to a crowd of hundreds.

The vast majority of the arrests took place on the Hart atrium floor, where, at a signal from organisers, protesters began holding up signs and chanting.
Others who were watching on upper floors unfurled banners that said “we believe Christine Ford”.
Another nine people were arrested for another demonstration on the fourth floor of the adjacent Dirksen Senate Office Building.
The Senate judiciary committee originally heard emotional testimony from Dr Christine Blasey Ford, who accused Mr Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her when they were teenagers.
He has also been accused by other women and denies all allegations.
The vote to confirm the judge will take place on Saturday.
