Donald Trump has made the extraordinary suggestion that rival Hillary Clinton has been “getting pumped up” with performance-enhancing drugs.

Trump claims Clinton was more energetic during the beginning of their debate last Sunday, but lost her steam by the end of the debate.

He offered no evidence to back up his wild claim.

He also challenged Clinton to take a drug test before the final debate next Wednesday.

“I think we should take a drug test prior to the debate,” Trump said.

“Because I don’t know what’s going on with her, but at the beginning of her last debate, she was all pumped up at the beginning, and at the end it was like, huff, take me down. She could barely reach her car.”

Earlier on Saturday Trump went after Clinton and the media, and to claim again that the presidential race is looking like – in his words – “a rigged election”.

Trump is denying stories in which some women have accused him of sexual misconduct.

He says the allegations are “100 per cent fabricated and made-up charges” and are being pushed by the Clinton campaign and the media.

Trump says they “may poison the minds of the American voter”.

Trump tweets that such “false and unsubstantiated charges, and outright lies” are being pushed before the November 8 election in order to put Clinton in the White House.
