Eight families in Orange County have been left horrified after porcelain dolls resembling their young daughters were left on their doorsteps.
According to reports, the girls, who are all aged around 10-years-old, attend the same elementary school and live in the same neighbourhood.
Orange Country police said that the dolls had been taken into evidence and they were trying to determine what prompted someone to leave them.
Up to 11 dolls have been recovered by police, which were left on families’ doorsteps throughout the week.
“Families in each of the homes where porcelain dolls were left voiced concern that the dolls resembled their daughters,” the Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release.
