A man believed to be a passenger on Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 posted a photo of the plane on his Facebook with the comment  “If we disappear, this is what the plane looks like”.

Dutch man Cor Pan posted the photo of the Malaysia Airlines MH17 plane shot down over Ukraine.

Friends initially laughed at the reference to missing Malaysia flight MH370 before the news broke.

More than 150 people have since commented on the Facebook post.

One wrote “rest in peace dear Cor and Neeltje, and we wish strength to your family – what a nightmare this is.”

Also on social media, a Dutch man en route to Bali posted a photograph of his tickets and passport.
