US fugitive arrested in mall

Puerto Rico police say a federal fugitive has been arrested at the largest mall in the Caribbean after a scuffle with authorities as frightened shoppers fled the scene.

Police tweeted that officers and agents with the US Marshals Service arrested Joselito Ferreira Casillas at Plaza las Americas on Saturday.

Ferreira, whose nickname is Pokemon, had previously been accused of drug trafficking in a 2011 case.

Police said that no shots were fired as some local media had erroneously reported.

Police said two other unidentified people were arrested amid a pursuit in which chairs and tables were thrown at the mall’s food court.
