The scariest landing ever? Wild winds cause airport havoc

Pteromerhanophobia: A fear of being on an airplane (aeroplane), or other flying vehicle, such as a helicopter, while in flight.

And when you watch this video, you can understand why thousands of people around the world are sufferers of this very condition.

Video has emerged of a Boeing 767’s wild landing at Birmingham Airport recently, on a day in which winds were gusting at around 65km/hour. Uploaded by Youtube user Flugsnug earlier this week, the video shows the pilot struggling to keep the massive jet steady as it approaches the runway.

After hitting the ground and bouncing off the runway, the pilot eventually manages to straighten the plane before taxiing in to the terminal. All passengers get home safe … although there’s no doubt they all got a little fright along the way.
