L-plater was going how fast?
An unaccompanied teenage learner driver has been caught driving at 181 kilometres per hour near Muchea, 60 kilometres north of Perth, police say.
Officers said the boy was alone in the car, contrary to L-plate permit conditions, when he was clocked at 181kph on the Brand Highway at 5:40pm on Monday.

• Man charged for abusing Nova Peris online
The speed limit on the highway is 110kph, but L-plate drivers are restricted to 100kph.
Police said they had to notify a responsible parent that the boy had been taken into custody and was facing several serious charges including reckless driving.
The teenager’s car has been confiscated for 28 days under the state’s hoon legislation.
