A shark warning has been issued in Western Australia’s south west after an increased number of reported sightings over the weekend.

Sharks ranging in length from 2.5 to four metres have been reported at Windmills, Yallingup North, Other Side of the Moon, Smiths Beach, Honeycombs and Gnarabup.

The Fisheries Department says there have been reports of unusually high numbers of schooling tuna in the area.

Authorities will continue to monitor the situation and may close beaches to keep people safe.
