Charges after laser pointed at police chopper
A 51-year old man has been charged with pointing a laser beam at a police helicopter in Perth’s southern suburbs.
WA Police say the incident happened after 11:00pm on Saturday night when the helicopter was targeted numerous times by a green laser light.
The air crew advised ground units where the laser light was coming from and police attended a home in Bournan Heights, Parmelia.
It is alleged police found two lasers at the residence.
The man has been charged with using a portable device to direct a visible laser near a conveyance.
He is due to appear in the Rockingham Magistrates Court on May 13.
