Victoria has another 1362 COVID cases and seven deaths, as the state’s full vaccination mandate kicked in for about a million authorised workers.

Friday’s update is the highest daily number of infections reported since November 1.

The infections bring the number of active cases in the state to 10,887, including 308 in hospital, slightly lowering the seven-day average to 307.

There are 46 COVID patients in the state’s in intensive care units. A further 53 have been cleared of the virus and 26 are on a ventilator.

The latest deaths take the state’s toll from the pandemic to 1313.

Some 73,419 tests were processed on Thursday, while 4815 vaccine doses were administered at state-run hubs.

More than 90 per cent of Victorians aged 12 and over are fully vaccinated, officially passing the milestone on Thursday.

It comes as those in jobs on the state’s authorised worker list are required to have two doses of a COVID-19 vaccination as of Friday.

Industries on the list include AFL and other professional athletes, lawyers, journalists, mining workers, court staff and personal trainers.

A Roy Morgan poll, released on Thursday, found 76 per cent of Victorians surveyed believe an employee in the state should not be allowed to enter their workplace unless fully vaccinated.

In a further change to the state’s check-in system, the Services Vic app has been updated to allow parents and guardians to add their children’s vaccination certificates.

Previously, parents had to carry printouts to prove children under 14 had been vaccinated to attend places like non-essential retail stores and events.

But the app now allows dependents to be added, so a child’s digital vaccination certificate can be included with their parent’s or guardian’s.

Meanwhile, the health department announced late on Thursday the immediate end of the state’s domestic travel permit and traffic light system.

The change means people from any of the states and territories are now allowed to enter Victoria regardless of their vaccination status, the border bubble ends, and international travellers who complete quarantine in another state won’t need a permit.

However, international arrivals and aircrew will still be required to abide by permit provisions.
