Bus-theft teens’ crime spree: police

Four teenagers have been arrested after allegedly stealing a bus and using it during crime spree in Melbourne’s west.

Police said bus was taken from a depot on Sunshine Road, West Footscray at 1:00am on Friday and was then used in thefts in the Williamstown and Laverton North areas.

Police intercepted the bus following a short pursuit.

A 16-year-old West Footscray boy, a 15-year-old Yarraville girl, a 14-year-old North Melbourne girl and a 14-year-old Williamstown girl were arrested.

The 16-year-old boy was charged with the theft of motor vehicle, theft from a motor vehicle, shop theft and handling stolen goods.

He was remanded to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

Police said the three girls had been interviewed and were expected to be charged on summons for shop theft and handling stolen goods.
