Firearms, drugs and drug-making equipment have been seized after police raided the clubhouse of the Finks outlaw motorcycle club in Melbourne’s east.

Echo Taskforce detectives executed 20 warrants on Tuesday morning in a number of suburbs including Monbulk, Edithvale, Endeavour Hills, Bass, Carnegie, Ringwood, Croydon North, Chirnside Park and Lilydale.

Operation Irrevocable was set up to focus on the criminal activities of the Finks, believed to be involved in aggravated burglaries, an attempted kidnap, firearm offences and drug trafficking.

• Police investigate double deaths
• Police harassment report due

“It’s the culmination of a four month investigation into the organised criminal activities of the Finks outlaw motorcycle gang,” Superintendent Peter De Santo said.

“Arrested this morning the state president, state sergeant-at-arms and the state treasurer. We’ve seized property from 15 premises.

“Out of those raids property seized includes two clandestine laboratories, firearms, stolen motorbikes, stolen vehicles and stolen semi trailers.”

Police said the raids in Victoria were conducted simultaneously with a raid on the Gold Coast where members of the Finks were also arrested and have been charged with a number of offences, including drug offences and counterfeit currency offences.

The raids also involved members of the Australian Federal Police, Australian Border Force and police from other states and territories.

Police said 10 people would face the Melbourne Magistrates Court later on Tuesday afternoon.
