There were four others inside the house at the time but police said no-one else was injured.

Police are investigating the shooting.

The incident comes just three days after a man was shot dead and his four-year-old son injured in their home in Thomastown.

It led the Victorian Government to announce it would fast-track changes to current gun laws in response to number of recent shootings around Melbourne.
