A third man has been charged with terror-related offences following a major counterterrorism raid on Saturday, over alleged planned terror attacks on Anzac Day ceremonies in Melbourne.

The 18-year-old man has been charged with conspiracy to commit acts done in preparation for, or planning terrorist acts.

He will appear in the Melbourne’s Magistrates Court later today.

Police have now charged three of the five men arrested in the weekend raids, while two have been released without charge.

Sevdet Besim, 18, of Hallam, was charged on Saturday with conspiring to commit a terrorist act and has appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court.

Besim was remanded in custody to reappear on Friday, April 24, police said.

An 18-year-old man from Narre Warren was charged on summons with weapons offences, is due to appear in court at a later date.

The two other Narre Warren men, aged 18 and 19, were released pending further inquiries, police said.
