Body found near cemetery
Passers-by have found a man’s dead body near the Keilor East cemetery in Melbourne’s north-west.
Emergency crews were called to Thor Court about 11:30am (AEST) after some people visiting the cemetery found the body on the street.
At least 20 homicide detectives, uniform and forensic officers are at the scene next to the cemetery.
Police are also in the cemetery grounds and can be seen walking among headstones and in long grass along the fence line.
Some officers are standing guard at the cemetery’s gates.
SES volunteers are line searching the nature strips of Keilor Park Drive.
Police have not confirmed if the body has injuries.
Detectives are expected to address the media shortly.
