Taxi protesters charged over clash with Vic MP
Four people have been charged over an alleged assault on Victorian MP Geoff Shaw.
Victoria police confirmed four people had been charged on summons following the clash with taxi protesters outside Victorian parliament on October 15 last year.
After the incident, Mr Shaw said he was verbally assaulted and spat on as he made his way up the parliament steps.
Two 74-year-old men have been charged with unlawful assault, assault by kicking and assault in company.
A 51-year-old man has been charged with unlawful assault, assault in company and using insulting words.
A 46-year-old woman has been charged with unlawful assault and assault in company.
The four will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on February 18.
