Torsten Trabert charged with murder of Melbourne gym owner Wayne Amey

Preston man Torsten Trabert has been charged with the murder of 54-year-old Melbourne gym owner, Wayne Amey.

Amey’s body was found in bushland at Mount Korong in central Victoria on Wednesday.

He disappeared after leaving a Toorak restaurant last week.

Police allege he was kidnapped from his apartment, where his son found a pool of blood.

Trabert, 54, appeared in an out-of-sessions court hearing this evening, charged with Amey’s murder.

He had previously been charged with being an accessory to the murder.

Two other people have been arrested in relation to the death.

Reservoir woman Robyn Jane Lindholm, 40, appeared in court Wednesday charged with being an accessory to murder.

Homicide squad detectives arrested John Anthony Ryan, 36, in Coburg on Wednesday night.

Trabert has been remanded in custody to face the Magistrates Court tomorrow.
