An inmate who escaped Adelaide’s Yatala Prison on Sunday night and his alleged female accomplice will face an Adelaide court.

Jake Devenney-Gill was seen running north from the pre-release, low-security section of Yatala Prison on Sunday night.

Devenney-Gill and a 22-year-old Salisbury East woman were arrested by detectives at a house in Elizabeth Vale about 7.30pm on Tuesday, police said.

He has been charged with escaping lawful custody and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Police say the woman is known to Devenney-Gill.

She has been charged with assisting an escapee to remain at large.
